1" ( 25.4 mm) I.D Graphite Dry Pressing Die for SPS and RHP Furnace - Die-25D-GP-5

DIE1DGP5 is a 1" ID graphite die set for OTF-1200X-VHP4,  OTF1200XVHP6 and OTF-1700X-RHP4 vacuum hot press and other heated pressing furnaces. It is used for the hot uniaxial press for ceramics, powder metallurgy at an elevated temperature of up to 1700 ºC and 100 MPa. The split design is for sample retrieval with ease. 

Die-1D -GP-4 Die does NOT come with the Tantalum Thermocouple Sheath for thermocouple protection.

  •  Graphite (99.99%)

Graphite Pressing Die

  • Graphite die dimensions
    • Ø80mm OD die sleeve with two split inserts
    • Ø25.4 mm (1") ID for pellet pressing
  • Working temperature 
    • < 400 ºC in air
    • < 2200 ºC in vacuum or inert gas 
  • Working pressure
    • < 100 MPa or  5 ton force @ Ø25.4 mm


Steps to make sample pellet

  • Mixing and grinding chemical powder by agate mortar or Ball Mill
  • Put powder into the die
  • Pressing sample by a pressing machine under suitable pressure
  • Heat the graphite die to the desired temperature
  • Cool the graphite die gradually.
  • Take out the pellet
