  • Suitable for use with MTI's OTF1700X12Z 12-Zone 1700˚C Max. Split Tube Furnace
  • Working temperature:
    • 1750 °C (3182 °F) in air (short time  < 3 hours )
    • 1650 °C (3002 °F) in N2
    • 1170 °C ~ 1450 °C (2138 °F ~ 2642 °F) in H2
  • Volume Density: 5 ~ 5.6 g/cm3
  • Bend strength: 15 ~ 25 kg/cm3
  • Vickers hardness: (HV) 570 kg/mm2)
  • Porosity rate: 7.4%

Resistivity Properties of MoSi2 Heating Element
  1. The resistivity of MoSi2 heating elements rises with the increase in temperature (shown in the graph below). When the temperature of the heating stage is below 300°C, less than 35% of the total output power should be applied to avoid stressing the elements with excessive current.
  2. Generally, the resistance of heating elements will not be affected by aging under normal operating conditions, therefore old elements can be used together with new ones.
Installation When installing a heating element into furnaces, a alumina alumina fitting for holding the shanks of the heating element should be well aligned with heating element rods.  The proper fitting holes should be selected to fit the shanks smoothly and avoid damage to the element.
Warning
During installation, be extra careful not to put any pressure on the components. The heating elements are very fragile, and if the alumina thermal fitting for heating elements is not well aligned or too much pressure is applied, they may break.
No warranty will be issued for damage caused by improper installation.
